Are you saying that the people of WHO have made some generalisations about Dublin? I’m not having that…

We call that ‘Canary Dwarf’

Re: Dublin
Have lived in Dublin for the past 15 years - it’s not a shithole (every city has some shit areas), but it is very expensive.

Not sure where people went who had a bad time but avoid Temple Bar as it’s just full of stag dos from England. Lots of other nice places to go out in - mainly on the South Side of the river.

I very rarely get any shit for being English either.

Agree Dublin is massively over-rated. Belfast is much better.

Re: Dublin
Overpriced certainly. Reminded me of Hackney for some reason. Lots of celtic gold in the museum and I got to meet Pete Bog but other than that, there was nothing that would attract me back there.

Re: Dublin
I liked Dublin tbh.

Went around winter when it was freezing so probably not as filled with tourists as summer. Dunno if that made much difference.

Its much more modern than you might be expecting. One side of the river on the way in from the airport is like a huge canary wharf looking development and a lot of the areas outside the city centre look very "European", like Stockholm or somewhere, bland flats etc.

Didn't get any attitude for being English except some tour giude who said something like "back when we kicked dose English basturds out.. present company excepted hehehe" which he probably says 100x a day.

It is very expensive for what it is though. About 150% London prices (paid about €5 for a coffee somewhere... yeah probably got ripped off)

Just did all the usual tourist shit (museums etc) so sorry no deep insights.

Re: Dublin
It's like any other average British city, like SHEFFIELD or PLYMOUTH, except it's outrageously expensive and it has ideas above it's station.

It exists for American tourists who like to claim Irish heritage.

Hence every other shop being a souvenir shop, staffed by eastern Europeans

Must admit I didn't really see the attraction in Dublin.... prides itself on being a 'Georgian' city but (if you are interested in that sort of thing) then there's more georgian architecture in Bow... wasn't impressed.
